Handcuffs, Guinness and Spam - The London meetup

He is still there? I am sure we saw the same in September of 2006!

This is how Simon's camera saw him back then:

And this is how my camera saw him:

Both photos from the 2 + 3 September 2006-Meet-Up ("The Revenge Of The Lens").

I am really impressed by everyone'S photos! (except my own, but that is a different story) :)

Becky - tooo funny about the plane nose marks on the walls! (Teehee. Guess you better move out then.) Wonder if Lostprophet is marking up the walls at his place with his racing car. I never saw who got the motorcycle. I wonder if Alex will share shots of people playing the travel version of (naked?) Twister. Or Duncan or Ferny showing their King/Queen potato heads. But David and Tony don't have to show what use they make of the red furry handcuffs.

It's definitely the same busker, Corinna! Although I think he got some new feathers for his helmet. What an expressive face he has!

The pics are GREAT, everyone. Keep 'em coming. And yes, I know I still have to post more myself.

Fantastic shots from everyone :)

Thanks for the laughs as well!

I know I still have my photos to post - I got my webspace password reset as I forgot it and I have converted the 10-20 I liked the most (out of around 180, that's bad!) into JPEG.

I just need to resize them to a more user-friendly size and wait for my steam-powered internet connection to upload them!!

I almost forgot, I need to get my Father his birthday present! So I may be back a little late. I will get a DVD if I cannot think of anything else!

David

Okay, here goes with some of my shots from the meetup.

It was a beautiful sunny day in London. We started off by heading to St. James Park, where many people were enjoying a Sunday stroll in the sunlight. Off in the distance was the back yard of the Royal Horse Palace.

I think we all took some pics of the tame squirrels and geese beside the footpath...

….and of the many ducks swimming in the pond. (I flew in on the 'red eye'…guess this guy did too! )

Here's my take on the 'pigeon lady' shot already posted by Duncan. Looks like we shot at virtually the same time! I liked how the shadow of the incoming pigeon fell on her coat.

I was amazed at how green was the grass and how many flowers were blooming!! (crocuses were up, primroses and daffodils were in bloom)

The London Eye was always upon us, it seemed.

Heh - at the scooters I did say I didn't mind you taking the same shots as me but you refused - you did lift your camera then put it back down quickly

Great shots Dave and Anty - I like the eye with the fountain very much!

Oh and I got the bike, but the kids got to it before I could - the kit-kat is still stuffed in my bag though, for emergencies and stuff ;)

Right, were was I? Oh yeah, Covent Garden....

Becky continued to lean even more due to the excesses of working the night shift in a dodgy cocktail bar in Soho
tpfjan-38.jpg

Alex and Dave ganged up on Duncan who refused to tell them the secret of how he stayed looking so young when he is really 53
tpfjan-39.jpg

"I'm Awake!!!" said Anty "Honest!!"

Sometimes, I feel really small...
tpfjan-44.jpg

Ferny wielded his monster once again, and had to keep it at arms length because the music coming from it was above health and safety recommended limits - Becky thought she was back in the cocktail bar and the activities of the previous night started coming back to her...
tpfjan-45.jpg

"Whoah did you hear the bass on that?"
tpfjan-46.jpg

Then it was into the Imperial for a well earned drink (or two) and more witty banter for the TPF crew

Nicely done, David! But I'll bet you've got more. Don't be shy....post 'em!

Ahh, so you're the one that got the bike, Tony. The kids may have taken it, but I'm sure they left you the most precious of all the gifts.....the tin of spam!!!

You gonna try spam fritters, Anty? And how did the Snickers and my nuts taste?

The Crunchie had a definite difference to it.

I may just have to give the Spam fritters a try, the way you Brits raved about 'em.

Oh, nice phrasing there ferny for maximum embarrassment factor. "Your nuts" made a tasty snack on the train on the way to Heathrow. Haven't tried the Snickers yet...need a local one with which to compare.

Few more due to popular demand!

Good stuff Dave!

Anty, the spam is in the cupboard and has a good chance of being fried on Saturday morning - I'll report back with my findings
