Reality Challenge - Make people see....

Sometimes I think we ( people who take more than the occasional family photo ) have a gift, and responsibility, to bring the story of people to life.

To not make people feel like they are being guilt tripped, forced or pushed to feel something.

But to be thank full of what they have. And sometimes, be more aware that there are needs outside of themselves....

Sorry but that shoot does not tell me anything about his life, i take it he is homeless did he have his worldly belongings with him if so i would have included them in the shot, its even hard to tell his cloths are ragged, all im getting is a gentleman sitting on probably a cold day because of his hat

LOL! gsgary - you have propably never had to work a hard day in your life my friend..... ( see how I am judging you there on just what you wrote)

This is more a post to ask people to post things that would be open for interpretation... his life is written on his face... ( Crop of the image below) - if this help s you a little...

Nooo, Gary just didn't get to the bottom of his second pint yet, he will get better.
When comes to the picture is shot in some harsh light, too harsh even like for street photography. (IMO).

Ehh... I'm going to have to agree with Gary; I get very little story from this image. Yes, he does have a weathered, picturesque face, BUT for all I know, he could be someone taking a break from a shift at a recycling plant or some other dirty, manual labour. With a little more careful processing, it might make a nice character study, but other than that, I'm afraid I don't really get anything from it. I understand your intent, but I feel the execution is a little lacking.

Here's me on break. All I need to do next time is sit outside and take the shades off. Wala magic!

this is much better than the crop

Hmmm... after seeing his digital watch, good condition leather boots and an almost finished bottle of cherry soda, I would say this guy has just finished work (low sun, too harsh for morning?), and stopped here for a rest before going home. He doesn't appear to be "of the street".
Elementary, my dear Watson... ;)

Interesting gnarled face though :) I guess he has seen a lot of sun.

You see, Tobias ?

You make it sound as if im always drinking, only drink friday and saturday nights
Sorry Gary, I didn't intent that. I just think 1 beer in evening after the work is good for digestion. In the world I wouldn't call it drinking. Drinking starts after first 1/2 l of whisky,, not before and I didn't have that for years.
