Have you considered just having yours repaired? Yeah it's a chunk of change, but as I understand it the repair is actually a rebuild, so you'd know you had a good back at the end.

I am not sure Phase One even services it anymore.

Well that's pretty tacky. They have an expensive product they know has a limited life span requiring service at some point, and there solution is to say you have to buy a newer model.

Wonder if there are any 3rd party repair shops?
