Have you been on a photography tour?

I've been looking at photography tours (week-long, landscape, nature, wildlife, etc...) and was wondering if anyone here has been on one? Was it worth it? Did it help you to become a better photographer? Was it fun?

Me personally, no. but I have pro photographer friends that often get guides for photo tours they do in other countires. These are especially handy if you want to explore less savory areas. I would think it would also be necessary for nature excursions or best at least. Unless your a great survivalist.

This is something I'd certain do....if I had all sorts of money & time.

I would love to go on some of the tours hosted by Micheal Richmann over at The Luminous Landscape. Not only do they go to some really great places, he brings along some world class 'instructors'.

Someday, I plan to host some tours myself, probably to Banff & Jasper National Parks up here in Alberta.
