Hawk being harassed.

Braineack · Jul 6, 2014

I never get any peace and quite anymore now that two hawks took up residence in my backyard. The other birds in the area don't take too kindly to it.

Great shots! I'm jealous you have these in your backyard. Is that a bluejay in the first shot?

Braineack · Jul 6, 2014

Yeah blue jay was giving it Hell.

pjaye · Jul 6, 2014

Bluejays are bullies. Ironically, that is still a better shot of a bluejay than I've ever managed to get.

Wow.. #2 is just outstanding!

baturn · Jul 6, 2014

Great stuff. I agree with robbins.

Dagwood56 · Jul 7, 2014

Great shots. You should hear the noise when a half dozen crows chase off a hawk, but at least the noise serves a purpose because the crows do manage to scare the hawk away. The jays just make a fuss and the hawk usually just sits there.

usually it's a gang of jays, crows, robins, sparrows, and cardinals.

they have a nest in the trees behind my house, which is home to myriad of other birds, so there's always hootin and hollerin outside now when they are hanging out.

...not as many squirrels as of late.

I've got a gang of them right now hanging out in front of my bird feeder. All wearing their little leather jackets and smoking cigarettes and trying to act all tough. Lol

Braineack · Jul 7, 2014

they aren't acting, they are tough.

DarkShadow · Jul 7, 2014

Nice set.Hawks being harassed because they know the hawk will nab the babies from there nest. There tough and can out manuver the hawk.Funny to watch the little birds wings go like a bat of hell to keep up chase with the hawks though.

Great shots! Both Blue Jays and Mocking Birds are very protective of their areas. It's always funny to see a small bird chasing a large bird.

tirediron · Jul 8, 2014

Has he filed a complaint HR?
