Hawk on French Drive

As I was moving stuff to my new diggs and carrying items to be stored in the shed at the back of the property, I saw this fellow perched on a branch. I stood and stared for several minutes and decided to walk calmly back to the house and grab the camera. I didn't expect him to still be there when I returned, but apparently he was content to catch the warm rays of the afternoon sun. A welcomed visitor indeed.

Nicely composed set of photographs. The strong direct sunlight played havoc with his/hers white feathers in #2 & 3. Maybe a 1/2 stop closed would have helped some.
