Headshot help

Hey guys.... i just started doing headshots again but I now have no darkroom .... so ive been doin the fun stuff on photoshop but im a little lost on how to smooth out the skin on one of my shots and get rid of hair on another ...... heres the 2

see i think its the harsh sun that totally made the hair stick out on the femal shot, and the first shot is just his skin and i know i can do better than this..... so im lookin towards photoshop a little bit now....

i personally think you would be better off reshooting the pictures with better light. Some parts of the skin are really blown out...Expose for shadow, develope (or photoshop) for highlights..
but then again im a film person so i dont know what all photo shop can do
