I'm newbie in terms of photography and am in the process of learning a lot of tricks each day and excited to be here to learn more!!!

I bought a Canon Rebel XS back in January and it is my first dSLR~
I've taken over 5000 shots since then and I can see I'm progressing, even though not by alot....

I primarily take macro shots (flowers, figures, plastic models, etc.)~

Thanks! I sometimes would "unconsciously" press the shutter while pointing at random things, I guess that's why I got 5000+ already...
I'm thinking of getting a 17-40mm L lens for my XS, do you think it will work out? I mean I heard people saying that putting a full-frame lens on a cropped-frame body is pointless...
