Hello, I have posted before but I have had not explained my condition well.
I have L1-6 discs that that limit my moblity. I use a walker to get around.

well nice to meet you and glad that you have taken up the great hobby business interest or professional photographer... that will keep you moving...

Sorry to hear. I went from hiking/backpacking to using a cane, then a walker then a wheelchair in a course of a year, so I can relate. Right now I'm now walking again, but both knees have been removed and both legs/knees are now fused permanently.

I only posted that to just say "Keep it up" and "Don't stop"! My "story".

Welcome to the party!!! Grab a beer from the fridge and join the fun!!!

I wanted both knees done at the same time, but the doctor wanted to do one at a time due to my immune system. They did my right one in 2006, but infection set in and after several tries to cure it, they removed the hardware in October 2006. Two days later I suffered a minor stroke while I was still hospitalized. We (me and the doctors) decided that due to my immune system, foreign objects (metal, plastic etc) would not be a good thing. Had my left knee removed and fused it.

I'm pretty mobile now, watch the video on my website. The only thing I can't do is drive a manual transmission or ride a bike...LOL!

well wonderful for you mike... i know everything you went through was horrid pain..for some reason knee surgery is just so painful and then i can only imagine an infection setting in... In the end i am happy to hear how successful you have become... i am sure that the challenges you faced and all the therapy was never ending ..... but you reached the highest goal i can imagine.. total mobility.. i cannot even say that yet...working on it.. but a long way away... congradulations and hope it continues..
