hello new here

i am new to the tread and looking for some friendly critique. I am wanting to get into photography as a side profession. i love to take pictures! here is a few of my pics that i recently did what do you all think? i have a nikon d40 18-55 lens nothing special but it takes decent pics. ok we can start with this one. hope its big enough

You are going to want to post larger images in order for people to be able to offer C&C. also consider numbering them if you are going to post more than one image.

Really? You're going to need to sort that out before you go much further. How big is the original image? What are you using to edit it?

BTW, from the looks of it, I think I would like the image. Probably needs more contrast, but as people have said... it's a bit hard to judge at that size. Sorry about that.
