Hello! teen nature photographer trying to make this passion a job!!

Been doing photography or 5 years, started during covid after I started watching IFHT films, got my dads old 400d, then around 2 years ago,my grandpa gave me his 7dkmii. I saved up for a couple years, last year, I got a sigma 150-600mm contemporary!! I have always loved photography, but I am trying to make my passion something that can fund my other passions(like reefkeeping, model rocketry, planted tanks and more )

Sounds to me like your on the right track. Find another hobby you really like and learn to take photo's of that subject. The better you understand the subject the better you'll learn to record it. Before you get yourself to carried away with equipment, learn to take a photo!

Hi stewi,

Welcome to TPF.

Read everything you can on nature photography and ignore the bits you dont agree with and practice the bits you agree with.

Being an amateur nature photographer myself (slightly older tho ) I wish you all the best in making it your passion and career.

You have to be there to get a picture of it.
