Hello to the forum.

Just found the forum a few days ago, been lurking, it seems to be a real nice community here. I'm new to the whole DSLR thing and looking to get into something a little more hands on, moreso than my 5 year old P/S. I like the ability to be in control of more settings than the P/S offers, as it is limited to white balance and 3-4 iso settings.

Trying to do some homework now, bought a couple of books, Understanding Exposure, and a book about the canon XTi. I have a friend who is a photographer in OKC, and he has some experience with that particular camera, and I really like how it fits in my hand, so I am leaning pretty heavily in that direction.

If anyone has any good starting points for me to start learning please be my guest and educate me.
