not sure whether or not this is the correct place to be BUT hello i have just gone from a sony cybershot point and shoot to a nikon d60. I have very basic understandings of dslr cameras and am willing to learn as much as poss to get good/better pictures (which i am sure i will:hail: with your help) many thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Don't worry. I got my DSLR in late March and join this forum. And I do not know much at all before I bought the camera. I do not even know the relationship between the ISO, Shutter speed and the Aperture settings. Do not know anything about fast lens. Do not know what lens to get.

But by reading, searching from this forum, I learned quit a bit. And there are a lot of fine people around here are willing to help others. So just relax and enjoy your stay.
