What's new

help me do this better

well if its not cloudy and your not too busy why not shoot a couple at each WB setting and see how they turn out, experimenting is the name of the game. H

flash as soon as i typed that i went i should just try it each way so i know for my self haha

here is my second try
Moon-1.jpg

When you're exposing for lunar surface... remember that it's daytime on the Moon on the bright surface, and since the Moon is at approx. the same distance as Earth, a good exposue is what you're use when you're shooting during daylight hours on Earth. Oh, and tripods help - a lot.

Paul - I could be wrong, but I'm thinking you're getting some motion blur at that magnification... You really don't need a middle-to-high f/stop, and if you opened the diaphram wide open, you'd be able to use a higher speed... But I do like the shot!

Hope your gear's alright after last night. I wouldn't go within 100 ft of my camera if I were that f'ed up, lol.

you become one with the picture

I gave it a shot. I would like it to be clearer but I'm not entirely unhappy with it. I experimented with a bunch of settings and this was the best one. Thanks for the tips! It was a fun shot!

ISO 200
240 mm
f / 16

Everybody's already contributed but wanted to show my moon pic too =P I have a ton of them but usually all around the same stats:

Around 1/100, ISO100, f/11. Give or take.
