Quick run down: Going back to school and need a laptop. Want to make it my primary editing machine as well: my mac mini isn't cutting it.
specs on my mac mini: 2.6ghz i5 processor with 8gb of RAM. And it's definitely not cutting it. Probably going to ditch the mac mini and my ipad pro and replace both with a macbook pro.
I definitely want to get a 15 inch macbook pro. Not looking for a mac vs PC war, I'm invested in apple's ecosystem and staying with them.
Is the base model 15 inch MBP going to be sufficient? I don't want to spend more if I don't need to, but I do want this laptop to edit photos in lightroom and PS without lagging. I will spend the money to upgrade if needed.
Base Model Specs:
2.8Ghz quad core i7 processor with turboboost up to 3.8ghz
16gb RAM
256gb SSD
Radeon Pro 555 with 2GB memory
Is there anything in there you'd upgrade to make it run faster? The 256gb SSD is plenty, as I keep everything backed up on external drives anyway.
