Help with a flash

Hello I did a search but came up with little help. I have started a real estate photography business, I bought a Nikon 5700 and my dad gave me his old Cannon flash it works but seems to give me alot of hot spots and after every picture I have to turn the flash off then back on to use it again. What im looking for is a flash with a good diffuser and can be angled cause I found bouncing it off the ceiling helps with the diffusion.

how about the nikon SB600 or SB800 with diffuser?

i use SB600 with the stofen diffuser and it produces good results

"shingfan" is right on. You need a flash that is compatable with your camera. I also agree with you. I do some real estate photography, and most of the time I use my flash in bounce mode.
