Help with noise. Shooting in low light

Does photoshop have the noise reduction? If not what software should I acquire, if need be

Of course photoshop has noise reduction! Photoshop comes with adobe camera raw - the noise reduction in camera raw works great!

+1...I love camera raw...

Boss. Pretty stoked to get this new lens, I must say.

You really don't think you'll regret not having autofocus? Autofocus can be difficult in low light but manual focus can be too especially with that camera. The viewfinder is crappy and not made for manual focus. Plus the new 1.8g lens is excellent. It was completely redone recently. And with the g lens it's super easy to go from auto to manual - all you have to do is move the focus ring. You don't have use a switch on the lens like the kit lens has.

You may need one of those split-prism focusing screens for accurately manual focusing on a small viewfinder like that, especially with low light.

Where does one find this item...I prefer manual focus over auto focus...

The shots I posted are what I will be taking. I'm okay with the manual focus I much prefer it over autofocus. Except for shots of my friends skating or snowboarding.

Is flash an option for you?
In their basement as well as other areas, yes. At a concert, no.

For situations where flash is acceptable, you have lots of options, especially if you can get the flash off cam with a pc cord, trigger, etc... Check out this video on YouTube:

Here's a shot I took recently:

This is low shutter speed with flash to freeze motion. Note that this image isn't "tack sharp," but it does (I think) capture mood...

Going to faster and faster glass is also a good option, but keep in mind what that's going to do to your depth of field...

I bought the nikkor 35 1.8g today. I tried it out at local stores and it was a better choice for the small area I am going to shoot in

Perhaps using cross lighting technique 2 flashes with gels to Match the environment that might help just my two cents (help lower Iso a little help the noise and can use a little faster shutter to reduce blur and maybe a tripod will help to )

I see. When I do plan on getting flashes eventually. But I was lying on the floor for these photos, tripod really wouldn't work there.
