Help with photo shoot please

ok this Sunday night I will be shooting (that sounds bad but I did not know what word goes in here), about 5 highschoolers for a customer who needs some brochours. How does one plan a photoshoot to be prepared? Do you all plan out your shoots? If so how? If not why? This is my first shoot, all the other ones I have done for fun and did it on a whim. Thanks

If it's going to be used in a brochure, make sure you get releases signed by them, and if they are minors, signed by their parents.

Your client should have some sort of direction for you, if not a layout to shoot to. Ask as many questions as you can before the shoot so you can prepare properly. These are the sort of things I'd ask:

How are you going to use the photos?
What's the "product?"
Are you thinking of all the kids in one shot, or individuals?
Have you thought about what the models will wear?
Are you thinking a white seemless background or do we need a set?

And anything else that comes to mind.
