ok everyone i am new at this photography stuff and love it. however i want a good clear picture of the moon and be able to see craters and all. i have a sony dslr a200 with a telephoto lens up to 300mm. what do i have to do to acchieve this. any help would greately be appreciated.

Pretty much just mount your camera on a tripod, zoom it out the maximum focal length, meter and shoot. You could probably get a good shot just in auto.

Exposure settings play tricks sometime when shooting the moon. There is a good image of the moon in this thread with the details how they shot it.

ok, i took a decent picture of the moon but how do i crop it with photoshop and enlarge it without it becoming distorted.

cropping doesnt distort images, resizing does... me thinks you need to do some reading..
