Hermit Thrush, small little bird... gave me a few minutes of its time

came within 6-10 feet of me so got a few full frame photos. iso was rather high 1100-3200 area. handheld and shutter speed probably needed to be faster.

Lucky timing on getting this, for sure, those guys are hard to catch (at least they are around here).

Best shot focusing-wise is the first, but my favourite is #4, it shows its character best.

thanks all, small birds are fun.

although sometimes hard to get DOF correct with enough light. some of these where F10 at 600mm with a 300mm f2.8 and a 2x teleconverter. some asked why i clipped the legs on other forums, and that is why. the bird was just too close for 600mm, then when i took the TC off the bird was too far away. LOL

Nice series. I'm not quite sure about whether chopping the feet off in some of them bothers me or not.... I'll think on it a while.
