Why don't you do us a huge favor and start integrating intervalometers into the cameras software for us time-lapse and star trail photography?

They do … at least most of them.

I think Nikon does it on all of theirs except the d3x00 series. I think the d3x00 series also lacks a MUP (Mirror UP) mode.
Canon on only a couple of their higher end ones.
I have no idea about Pentax, etc.

You'll have to buy an external one, they're quite plentiful.

big list of 'em ==> List of Large Sensor Cameras with Built In Intervalometers Lonely Speck

Panasonic has time lapse on the FZ1000, LX100, G6, G7 and others.

Canon put this in the 7D mkII.

Agreed, there are a bunch of them available. I got one for my 7D for under $100 and it works very well.

I've got one but I have a bad habit of forgetting it or leaving it on and running down the battery! I guess I better get the Mark II!

or get a spare battery .. or eliminate the bad habits.
I think a spare battery and improved habit is a bit cheaper than a new camera.
Do you leave your camera on all the time too ?

No, i'm not really that bad about it but it has happened a time or two which made me wonder why more cameras don't have this option. I agree though, I need to be more careful with my equipment.

You mean your supposed to shut them off?

Huh.
No, you leave them on but remove the batteries. :)
or get a longer cord :)

Wait, they take batteries?

Wow.. ok. No wonder all my shots have been coming out like this recently:

I thought when that happened you just bought a new camera. Dang.

I think they meant the battery for the intervalometers, not the camera.

Hey Consumers.
The idea behind modern electronics is their frequent replaceability. Do us camera manufactures a huge favor and start buying new cameras more often so you will have the bells and whistles you want. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Wait, those take batteries too?

Geez. Can we get a chart or something?
You just need a lighter density lens cap that doesn't block so much light. :)
and remove the batteries, you apparently don't need them :)

If you need to, the charts are always printed on the batteries on the side, although like most instructions these days are so miniscule that you can't read them much less recognize that there's words there.

admin .. please remove the gorilla from the room .. LOL
