Hi lolondar. Welcome to The Photo Forum.

Yes, photography is fun whether you use film or digital. You will hear it sooner or later so I might as well bring it up now. The learning curve for film is much steeper and more expensive than with digital. The expense factor includes the cost of film and the cost of processing. You can have your negatives scanned but that adds an even greater cost. The steep learning curve is from the delayed feedback on your photos due to the processing time. With digital you can see the results of your shot immediately.

That being said, several photographers here on TPF learned with film, myself included, and could probably answer any questions that you might have. The concepts of light, exposure, focus, etc... are the same whether you use film or digital. Jump on in and have fun.

Welcome aboard.
