Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I'm doing laundry, my daughter is sleeping, and I'm just starting on my coffee. So I figured now would be a good time to introduce myself. I'm Jeff. I'm 28 years young, and I'm a personal trainer. I have a decently artistic background, but I come from a meat head hockey family. My father played, mother tried, my sister traveled the world (no interest in photography somehow..) and I ended in juniors. I really don't have this luscious hippish artisitc vibe going on with life.

I have a love for science. I graduated in exercise science, and now back AGAIN for Biology -_-. Did you have parties at your house and play drinking games based on anatomy?? If so, we will get along great! Science was my driver for photography. I bought a DSLR to take long exposures of the night sky which many would find un-interesting, but seeing the fuzzy ball of andromeda, or the deep blue glow of orion, or even the thickest part of the milky way never gets old to me. You can't truly appreciate life on earth until you appreciate what lies beyond it. I don't take these shots with fancy eq mounts, ccd's or even telephotos. I use the kit lens that came with my nikon, or a nifty 50. Andromeda is HUGE! It's the size of the moon in the night sky.. I don't need to go in too far. I've since moved into being an all around shooter (but i still just like shooting..... SCIENCE!) I used a film camera prior just to shoot random things, but for astrophotos? No.. I wanted gratification on the back of that camera haha.

I can't say hockey was all I did prior to where I am now. I did play piano and still do. I took painting lessons for years. Early in High School, I even collaborated with my art tutor to make abstract portraits of athletes from my sisters school out of newspaper and magazines mixed with acrylic. These were sold at the school auction. I began college in architecture as well so I'm not a total meat head :P

Might be long for an intro, but my daughter is now awake, my laundry is done and my coffee is finished.

Thank you goodbye :)

YEA!!! Beauty! Great pic!
It's from my new 10inch SCT
Cool! I Dabble at the thought of getting a 6 inch rc. That cheapo astrotech one. I like the look of star diffractions haha. I also like to play with hubble images! Look at this one I made. Hopefully you can see it. Ever do that? Take images from the Hubble legacy archive and make an RGB image from it???

are you?? That would be a great planetary scope, wouldn't it? That's what I use that micro observatory for.. friggin Saturn because lining up my cell phone with my scopes eye piece owns me. Its this junky dob bushnell ive owned for years. And yea, download FITS liberator, then download three images from the legacy archive, then hop into photo shop and work the magic. It's no different than how the official images are done, but each are unique in how you assign the colors, how you arrange the composites etc etc etc. Limitless possibilities and lots of fun :)

Welcome aboard. Did you bring bacon, wine or chicken (don't ask)?

Haha I suppose I brought all three if there's no way for me to ask people which they prefer. It's the polite thing to do.

Yeah the 125 etx isn't bad. You can see Saturn and Jupiter easily with it through the eyepieces.

I'll have to give a few downloads a try when I get around to it.
