high Res photos from SD card

Ok, I have an issue getting high res photos off of my SD card. I have a Macbook and a Rocketfish Card Reader. Anyone got any advice?

what camera? it should have come with its own software to download

If your Canon did not come with the required software... (it should have) you should be able to get it from the Canon Web site.

i'll have to see if i have the software, and it came with a download cable, but on a mac it downloads them through iPhoto, which still has bad res

You camera should have come with a disk that includes mac versions of the Canon software. Install that software and quit using iPhoto. iPhoto sits unused on my 17"MPB because it is a very basic program of little real value to a photographer. The Canon software is a much better start.

ok, i used the software and all the photos are still at 72 dpi. any other tips?

Have you checked ALL settings or preferences for any software you are using?

Good call, check the camera settings what do you have it set at?

i have it set on the largest setting available

So you are shooting RAW format, or JPG fine

Ok you are either have it set to Jpeg or RAW to save to the SD card. also in your software there should be settings as how to save the images from 300dpi down to like 50DPI
