Hobbes in Window. Color or B&W?

I was looking back and forth with and without the frame as well. I don't know if it works or not but without it lacks something. I see about the balance.

In other news: *I* have a cat named Hobbes too! She's about 17 years old. Her sister, Calvin, died a couple of years ago.
Yes, females. Named Calvin and Hobbes.
I got them for my boys the spring after their dad had left. I *specifically* asked the lady if they were males, and she said yes. She brought them by the house (AND they were free), and I just didn't really think to CHECK that little matter at the time. By the time I realized that they were NOT boy cats, my kids had already named them and I didn't have the heart to tell them their boy cats were girls.
They were in their teens before they learned the ugly truth.

I played with the crop a bit but I shot it this way internationally--well sort of.

I find I often will shoot a scene with a vertical object on the edge of the frame--I find it gives a scene of depth to the frame as well as balance. Just seems to be something I do.

i said color above but i got to ask you. Does it matter enough to worry about it? It is a photo of your cat and living room. who cares.

Who cares? Braineack does. That's why he posted it. I mean, NONE of this is groundbreaking cancer research or anything, but we post what we want, BECAUSE we want to.

Besides, Peter Lik sold THIS for $4mil plus, so why NOT a picture of a cat and a couch?

Not just colour, but that particular blue and the way the light plays on it, highlighting the cat. And I'd crop the right side about where the two couch pillows touch each other.

Color, hands down. The wall color is beautiful, and complements nicely with the cat's coat. I agree with square crop and cat in the right part of the frame looking in to negative space(terminology?). Stains on cushion are a little distracting, but the crop could eliminate that.
