Hi guys,
Did shoot this with my new 55-300 lens
Tried to do this with advice i was given here.
It was a very cloudy and cold day here in the Holland.
Do you like it?

Not bad; nicely timed. A couple of thoughts... the first is a little soft, perhaps a slightly higher shutter speed? Both are a bit tight; I generally recommend shooting a bit wide and then cropping appropritaely in post.

I did shoot it with 1/1000 shutter speed, would you recommend 1/1250?

I got the 55-300mm kit lens, should VR be tuned off?

He may have done exactly that. How would we know otherwise? IMO the frame is exactly where it should be, unless one would allow a framing margin.

Its true what Designer says, the image was a lot wider and i copped it.
That was the advice i was given before so i did that

Should i set the shutter speed higher? and should the VR in the lens turned of?

1/1000 is more than fast enough. It looks like that first one may just be a little back focused. And shooting with 1/1000 you can turn VR off.

For the first shot i would have left a little more frame as to not cut off the players fingers and same for the top of the head in #2.

It looks cropped to me also.
