Honest criticism appreciated. I'm still learning.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I wanted to see if it was just me, but I liked it but didn't like it at the same time. I worried about the corner of the sign.

I toned it a bit in Lightroom 4. In retrospect, that was a mistake. Live and learn.

Yeah, I agree I would crop out the sign, but I feel the same way. I really want to like this, but...

I want to like it too, but I'm not sure what it's about. I was hoping somebody could tell me what magic ingredient I'm missing. (Would that it were that simple!)

On edit: I think, after looking at it a while longer, that the eye motion is always away from the subject and toward the edges. The dynamic lines are interesting, but they seem to be always leading me OUT of the frame, and AWAY from the subject.

Good idea. Structural components of buildings can have great lines. I think that this image could be improved by abstracting the lines more. Here, I can tell what they are and I see them in context, which makes the image somewhat mundane for me. If you got closer, it would be more abstract, and I think it would work better. Sounds like something I should try. The park is 5 minutes from home. Next time I'm there I'll walk around the structure and try to see it differently. Thanks.

I'm on board with the other comments... I like the lines, needs to be more abstract. If possible, I would shallow up the dof a bit.
