Hello everybody. This is my second post in this forum. I would like to show my pictures from my first poor-strobist session. I've used only one flashgun (old and cheap one). I'am amateur. Comments welcome - be honest

I think the pictures are nice-nothing too harsh going on. I like the muted background. I just don't like how you can't really see her hair.

I'm a noob, too, but I just didn't want you post to get buried without one single comment (I know the feeling)...

Not bad IMO i think that her um left arm should be a little darker.

Yes, You all have right. I as well think that is little bit to much red (colors balance - I already taked some minus red), as well as I think that hair should be more visible. To dark background to this color of hair - maybe.

I'm not a huge fan of the lighting, but pretty good overall

The problem with the hair is that you need it lit independently, especially against the dark backdrop, either that or light the background, basically you need more lights. H

These are underexposed and your white balance is off (too warm).
Keep shooting, practice makes better!

no, I think she has too much foundation/fake tan on
it makes her skin look unnaturally orange...

either the white balanace is off or the skin is off, but whatever it is she looks really warm, quite unnatural.
