Honker Hauler ~ TTF JACKSON LAD O' CLOONFINISH JH, call name JACKSON, is seen making retrieve of a Canada Goose training bumper as part of his ongoing development as a gun dog. The bumper looks like a Honker and is dimensionally and weighted similarly. JACKSON is now 11 months old and just earned an AKC Junior Hunter title. JACKSON is developing very nicely as a gun dog trainee and will see action hunting whilst afield this coming season.

On Retrieve ~ Jackson is seen making the retrieve and recalling to his owner / handler Deb whilst hauling the big "Honker". Deb is reinforcing JACKSON'S recall by use of verbal command, whistle signal, and gestural cue.

Mission Accomplished ~ JACKSON has j-hooked to a sit at Deb's left side and is presenting the bird into her hand upon her issuance of the verbal command "GIVE".

Still much to learn ahead of him, JACKSON has started training on the skill sets required to move onward to the AKC SENIOR Hunter and HRC Hunting Retriever stakes. JACKSON has started to work on diversion birds, multiple marked retrieves, honoring another working dog, force to the pile, and three directional casting. We plan to campaign JACKSON toward his SH and HR titles starting in the summer of 2020.

Currently JACKSON is very steady on the line, is marking incredibly well, demonstrates great drive and style when sent on retrieve, works nicely on both land and water, and makes classic presentation to hand to complete his retrieves. JACKSON will further develop his skills on birds throughout the upcoming bird season whilst being worked under actual hunting conditions. To date, JACKSON has demonstrated incredible potential as a gun dog prospect and K9 hunt test athlete in training.
