These are not a all what I was going for but at least I know now that my tiny YN-460ii flashes will not overpower the sun :( But at least they made okay fill flash! We plan on going out later tomorrow night to try again.

C&C, I have a few in color but I liked them in B&W better. I am also having issues with skin smoothing, if anyone has any tips or videos to share please do! (I've tried the high/low frequency layers but I'm not happy with the way it looks :P)

Sorry there are so many and I'm also sorry for the watermark...

She thinks she looks like a "swamp lady" in this one but I think the reflection looks cool!

I also have this where her elbow isn't cut off but I didn't like how I shot it in landscape (tried something new insight of some recent threads...).

Thank you!

I like them! I'm sure she was really happy with them too! She looks great! I'm surious to see what more experienced people say about the skin smoothing techniques...

Nice set. :sillysmi:

#3 Is a little too tipped for my tastes, and I was gonna say that I think I'd like to see #4 in landscape format, however you said you didn't like that... sooooo... yeah. She just feels cramped to me the way it's framed in that one, but everyone else may disagree.

Thanks :)

She like the landscape if that picture better too :) The two pictures that are at an angle are cropped that way, I can post the straight ones later, maybe they are a bit better!

I'm not a fan of tilting the camera, but to each his own.

As for the yongnuo's overpowering the sun... obivously you can't shoot straight into it. But they can certainly do an effective job of allowing you to properly expose the background on a sunny day, and in many cases, even allow you to underexpose it by a few stops.

BTW, your friend looks ALOT like Kate from lost. Who happens to be my celebrity crush. Just Sayin... haha

I had a bit of a hard time trying to trigger them from my other flash though :P I will post straight pictures later!! I promise!

Shes newly single ;)

I usually dislike tilt as well but in this case I see it was necessary to get all of her in the frame :D (where's that wolf howl smiley?)

I'm no expert but it looks like that top is a size too big for her. Maybe it's just the style?

Bathing suits sag... stretch?...whatever... when they get wet. It looks like it's the right *size*... it's just logged with water now. Happens to the best of us.

But then again... I'm not a real girl... so maybe I just suck at bikini shopping. :lmao:

The bathing suit top is gathered it the front, bunching I think it's called, it fit her well :)

I have used this one in the past and tweak it to my own tastes. Skin Smoothing. Something to keep in mind is that when someone makes a tutorial like this, not all camera images are the same exposure or physical dimensions. So a 1 pixel blur might be enough in some cases or you might need to cut back or increase blending effects depending on your starting image.

TOOO MUCH FABRIC!!!! No seriously, it does look like it's too big of a size.

For shots that have the trees in the background, I wish it is even more out of focused. It's a little distracting now.
Also, generally these shots look rather static, I think they need a little more emotions to bring out the energy.
