Hot off the Printer

Sharing this one because I have yet to print a shot this big. A client requested this 40" on the long edge.

The candle is there for scale. So either this is a tiny table and a miniature candle, or that's a big print.

It looks awesome!

I agree with that in this case but I believe it works both ways. (Meaning that web size helps some photos and hurts others.)

May not be an issue if you get it properly (professionally) framed, but I'd strongly suggest that when you get large prints done, you have the lab laminate them onto some sort of stiff substrate. For example, at my lab I can choose to have them laminated onto card stock, foam core board, corrugated plastic (gator board) or something more substantial like wood or a composite material (forget the name).

I do this with any prints over 8x10.

In my office right now, I've got 4 20x16 prints in frames. They are a few years old and likely because of humidity changes, the paper has become wrinkled. They look OK from the right angle, but from some spots, they look pretty bad. Lesson learned.
