What's new

How about a voice or video chat?

This would probably be the easiest way. Someone could create Google+ TPF community and/or host hangouts. There is a chat room, but I haven't logged into it in probably more than a year...

Google plus? Wth is that?

I was being sarcastic. Google plus isn't exactly setting the world on fire.
Do you use it?

People seem to think that it's just another Facebook that isn't Facebook. I guess if that's what you want it to be, you can make it that - but it seems totally different to me.

Not really sure how to describe it. I guess I'd say that it is much "smarter". I guess it really all depends on how you use it though.

For work purposes. Networking and all that.

Whatever you think of it, it's certainly more "feature rich" than Facebook. I think that maybe the reason I think it's so different is because I use it differently than I use Facebook.

Just to say that I met 2 members so far.
It's been a great experience.
Got to go now

You can - exchange skyp addresses and away you go.

Skype is the equivalent of a party line in terms of being totally public. If that is your thing?? There are other video chats that are more private and secure.

If you want to just promote your photographic business, then a controlled Facebook presence is useful.

As a social network, it is probably more dangerous than bar hopping. A guy in Ontario went out with some guys on a test drive of his truck for sale on the net and was murdered by them and that was not even a social network connection.

My point is that public social networks entail considerable and unexpected risks.

You seem to have recently become concerned with security.
I would never say anything on Skype, or on phone, that I would mind being printed in the NY Times.

so....

I met three TPF members, and they all are great!

Runnah, I have been waiting for days for our Skype session! Hurry up!!!!

I think there is some sort of rule on TPF about soliciting for professional services by people who aren't formally advertisers.
Well crap Lew, what else am I supposed to be gaining from this forum?
