how can i take such amazing photos?

Just one note: not all photographs there are actually HDR.. Many of them are just overprocessed in PC.

Wait for your birthday and make it your wish while blowing the candles out. Sort of worked for me.

...but seriously. Read, Practice, Read, Practice. All the stuff I've learned has been off of various photography blogs, listening to people here, and trial and error.

First you need a good camera and good lens and a heavy tripod. Then go take some good pictures. You have to take shots at varying shots set to the same aperture with exposure levels such as: -2, -1, 0, +1, +2. Then you use a hdr program like photoshop or photomatix to merge them. Thats the easy part. Then you have to figure out how you want to process the edit, you know change the setting, to get the feel you want. This may involve lots of trial and error. I would recommend just asking people on flickr whose pictures you like about what the do when they edit the final product in the hdr software.

Then there are slews of other things you can do to tweek the final product.

If you have real skills with photoshop you can layer the varying exposures by hand to get the HDR effect but this would be way past your level at this point Im assuming.

Here is a good tutorial to get you started that will break things down more.

I didn't see any amazing HDR's there, but I saw a lot of them that were not all that well done, not having been made with the range of EV steps the scene needed. The car shots are good examples of that.
All in all it all looked like pretty average amateur work to me.

I also understand though that someone seeing work like that for the first time could easily consider it amazing.

Doing HDR's well takes a lot of photographic and editing, knowledge and skill.

Is this thread a joke? There's really nothing special about that vid, except the horrible English.

Those HDR images in the video is what I strive for mine NOT to look like...

The music in that video mimicks sexy nails across a clean chalkboard.
