I want to put lines like this between words:

Text goes here ||| more text goes here

I tried just using an 'l' but the line isn't long enough to look like it's a dividing line. Can anyone tell me hoooow?

Thanks! I never saw that there! I did just discover it will copy and paste like I did into here, but that can be time consuming, and it's messing up my format. Thank you soooo much. I'm having trouble this document formatted the way I want it to be, and the tables won't work for the way I'm doing this, so I needed a different way to divide things up. Thanks again!

you can also set that symbol up in a macro so that you don't have to insert:symbol repeatedly.

What's a macro?

I guess I should have said assign a command to the character ... like cntrl+letter of choice ... macros are a little more involved. when you pull up your symbol box, there will be an option to assign a command.
