How do I get photos of children like this?

I think the little girl has been "touched up" with Portrait Professional. I have two kids, ages 7 & 9, and they are beautiful on their own - but if you do some post processing in Portrait Professional, their faces just light up, their skin looks like cream, and their eyes beam. Here's an example on an adult.



It's subtle, but the touched up photo on the right just looks like a healthier, more vibrant person. It works even better on children. (I just couldn't find any examples. If anyone has a photo of a child, I would be more than happy to edit it.)
