What's new

How do people become like this...

Well, Maria. If you would just get yourself out of C Block, you'd be ok.

DarkShadow mentioned pushing someone to extremes ... here was not even about that... how can a stranger push you that you act like that? He can say something perhaps, but if saying something could provoke that strong rage then what are those guys? There's no word for them

Actually there is a word for them..............Humans. The truth of the matter is, if you look throughout history Humans are by far the more savage beast.

I've just heard what happened last night, right across the street and my house. From my kitchen window I can see a huge puddle of blood.

In a few short sentences...

Two guys, I and B, attacked another two guys, with apparently no reason. I and B live in my town, other guys came with the amusement park that settled here few days ago. They all are about 30 years old.
They (I and B) beat them with a baseball bat. They broke one guy's skull and smashed other one's leg in three places, dislocated a shoulder and broke an arm in two places.
After that, they started the car and tried to run them over. Luckily, guys managed to avoid them.

The police, and ambulance came after all this..

Sorry, maybe the most of you will say...well, those things happen every day... but I'm under a bad impression of all this.

I simply can't understand how people can be like this? Where did they get that amount of rage? Why!? How can you hit the person that hard!? and continue to do that!
shocking because we live in what we developed to be a "civilized society".
occasionally the veil is lifted or the glass gets shattered. Consider watching a nature episode of like animals killing each other or at least dueling. Nothing more.
animal kingdom.

I live under the impression that humans are inherently good, so there could be many factors at play.

One of the cases I worked on this past semester was an assault case: two guys attacked four other guys after they started yapping at each other at a bar. The two guys had tire irons and didn't have a scratch on them. Each of the four that were attacked had stitches for wounds on the top and back of their heads, and one of them had more serious problems.

It's not as serious as what happened in your OP, Maria, but what starts any kind of assault like this between strangers? Alcohol played a role, I'm sure, but so did insecurity and pride, a need to prove themselves and make others feel small, an inability to understand consequences.

When people act so horribly to others, I always wonder how much of it is because of how they feel about themselves. A lot of angry people are angry at themselves most of all, but then turn that anger onto others. Or they feel ashamed of themselves and rather than raise themselves up to erase that feeling, they tear others down to be at the same level so they don't feel so bad.

Proof positive that evil does indeed exist in our world.

I had a similar situation happen outside my old house. Three guys with baseball bats beating the hell out of one other guy. It was messed up. I was able to call the police and stop the madness before the police got there (sidearm). I found out later that day the victim had within the past week brutally raped a minor. As much as he may have deserved it, I'm glad I stopped it. Those three guys may have taken it too far and put themselves in prison for life.

It all goes back to bad parenting. As far as I can see, there is no short term solution for the problem, which means it will get worse, wayyyyy worse, before it gets better.

I assume by that you mean Adam & Eve, because there is nothing new about this situation.

Watch the movie "Idiocracy", then report back.

Read Book on history instead of going to the movies and report back. There are no Cliff Notes on the human existence.

My shock comes from the fact that they used a bat. What happened to just shooting people?! God, what is this world coming to?!!

There actually is. And usually its us guys fault in parenting. From what I have read. Men were often overlooked as importance in parenting because women were the primary nurturers. I remember reading studies and going through statistics a few years ago though that heightened mens influence on their children which before wasn't totally understood. children are much more prone to violence (especially boys) when raised without a father and much more prone to law issues or statistically larger chance of ending up in jail. Good fathers teach boys acceptable levels of aggression and guide it. single mothers often cannot fill that same role. Also fathers are influence on childrens grades and likelihood of avoiding poverty and not dropping out of school. The role of a father wasn't quite understood and considered minor but from what I was looking through a few years ago there is a direct link to lacking fathers and good father role models and crime rates. single mothers, while trying very hard and doing a good job in doing so, just don't have the father "laying it down" on the kids effect. while more obvious with boys aggression problems fathering is also key in girls as well from early pregnancy statistics and also grades and reaching a level out of poverty. Guys really do, do something..

"In addition, numerous studies have found that children who live with their fathers are more likely to have good physical and emotional health, to achieve academically, and to avoid drugs, violence, and delinquent behavior"

https://www.childwelfare.gov/pubs/usermanuals/fatherhood/chaptertwo.cfm

there is a lot of info on this though. And not saying saying a person growing up without a father or a less than great father cannot exceed and do well. Just looking at the over all info and statistics available it seems there is direct link between fathering and many of the social issues. While there will always be violence as it is natural to a extent a large contributor to overwhelming violence and social issues is the parenting, and most often the fathering. Which for a long time was dismissed as everyone put attention on the mothers being the primary influence (turns out they aren't).
