How do you repaint masks?

I was using Photoshop yesterday (5.1) and was erasing out some of the exposure mask that I had created.

How do you reapply masks after you erase them?

go to edit and click back up a step and keep clicking it until they are back

Or, change your color to white and repaint it back in.

[CTRL]+[ALT]+[Z] will step you backwards as well. (Command + Option + Z on a Mac, I believe)
