How do you shoot shoot fine art for prints?

I would argue that "real art" begins with the artist, regardless of your tools.

The OP was looking for opinions. That's mine. If you want to paint your walls with feces & call it a Rembrandt, that's your prerogative.

My dad is an artist. Recently, he has gotten into making prints of his work.

As others have said, first your Dad needs to decide if he wants photographs for a web site or he wants to sell fine art reproductions. If his intent is to sell quality reproduction then why are you going around the horn. There are services out there that will copy your art, make a digitized image, and even provide you with accurate, quality reproductions. Here's one site, I know nothing about, but was just one of the many that cropped up when I did a Google search for "services that digitize and print artwork" Art Copy - Fine Print Imaging

Just because he asked for opinions doesn't mean that I can't call you out on yours. That's my opinion too. Idk where you got this feces idea from, but I'm sure it could actually be a legit medium if used correctly.
