How Is this Done?

I really want to get into these type of images but i dont know how to do them if i can i have a canon s5 is can i? it's the images were it looks like the light is being followed kinda like how a glowstick looks at night? any insight?:hail:

You need to set your camera to manual or TV use a tripod and select a long shutter speed. use the self timer at 2 seconds, it needs to be dark. you will need to experiment with shutterspeed time to see what works best, but it is possible

It's called 'Light Painting' or 'Light Graffiti'.

I did a quick search and here are some relevant threads, you would need to check your camera's manual to see how to set the shutter speed, like Rachelsne said, it is best to set your camera to Manual and have a longer shutter speed (at least a couple seconds)
