How long have you been behind the lens?

I would share my approximate age so I won't tell but I can tell you that my first camera sat on a shelf next to my powder horn and extra flints for my long rifle

Sporadically over the past 55 years (approximately). I was quite taken up with the hobby in the 1970's shooting B&W, developing film, making prints, and shooting color transparencies.

Occasionally I stopped due to time or money constraints but always picked it up again.

Fairly new to digital editing.

Those where the days! We rolled our own (35mm film canisters) and snorted D-76.

I got my first dslr in April 2012, so just over a year and a half.

Starting taking pictures in the late 60s.
First camera that belonged to ME (not the whole family): around 1971, when I was given my grandfather's old Brownie Junior
First SLR camera: 1978
After college, kids came along and the cameras all got put aside for awhile, except for various point-and-shoots, first film ones and then digital.

First DSLR: Just over 2 years ago, when I found myself with an empty nest and decided to start doing photography again, as more than just a casual hobby.

All told then, I've been "behind the lens" for about 45 years. But I do sometimes take bathroom breaks and get a bite to eat. :lmao:

I got my first camera in 1964, when I was 8. It was a Kodak Instamatic 126...my mom was tired of hearing me pester every Christmas to let me use her Brownie Hawkeye to take a picture or two. I later got one of the kodak pocket 110's, then I moved up to using my dad's Agfa Isolette [dates back to the mid 50's and has bellows] from there I bought a Yashica TL electro, and then a Minolta Maxxum7000 and today I use a Sony Alpha 100 or my little point shoot Canon A570is. In the 80's I had my own business doing pet portraits and show books, but there wasn't a big market for that where I lived, so it only lasted a couple years. These days, photography is just a hobby.
