How often do you guys upgrade your camera?

I started with a used Canon AE-1 in April 2004 and just got a Nikon D70s. I had in my mind a learning path that started with fully manual film, went to digital and then eventually back to film.

I suspect that I will get spoiled on things like autofocus so I may end up getting a new film camera when its time to go back in that direction but I really like my Canon.
