how to connect flash wireless

okay I have the 20D, the 430ex flash and an wireless trigger. do I need to use the flash on the camera, and have a second one to use wirelessly, or can I use my one and only flash off camera with a shoot through umbrella...and use the wireless trigger to trigger it!

and if thats the case, how do I set up the camera and the flash to set off together. ugh!!!! :thinking:

If you have a wireless trigger (sender and receiver) then you don't need to use the built-in flash at all.
