Lighting glass can be quite challenging, and often requires a fair bit of practice and fiddling about. The best advice I can offer is to purchase the Bible of lighting; "Light, Science, Magic" which will tell you, in straight-forward terms, how to light everything from soup to nuts and the containers it came in!
