How to read your camera user's manual

I'm guilty of not reading the manual. There's simply too much information and I won't remember everything to know where to reference it back. It's much faster just to Google what I need. :D
If you look in the back of the manual there is a tool there called an 'Index' so you don't have to remember where to find information.

Perusing a manual often helps understand how it is organized, making it easier to find information.

The user's manual is often the most accuarte source of information.

The "Index" uses simple words where search engines allow you to type in the entire phrase to start your search without knowing the specifics. So there are pros and cons to each one, use them accordingly. I'm more of a visual person so It's just my personal preference to use Google and Youtube unless I don't have access to the Internet. I use my car manual for specifics like oil grade, oil amount, torque values, maintenance intervals, etc. The "Index" is awesome for that since I already know what I'm looking for.

To each his own, I guess. :D

You know a good book can be read more then once. Stating that it has too much information and would be too much to remember sounds like the answer of a small child. Things are learned gradually and one needs to build upon other knowledge and not just disregard it because they think it is too overwhelming.

People do not be like this person. Study your manual. They do not give it to you for no reason.

My manual has been read so many times that it feel apart.

I HIGHLY recommend that people don't be like me. I rarely read manuals and prefer to figure it out on my own. It's a challenge, like figuring out a puzzle, and it keeps my brain active. :D
