How was this HDR done?

How would you be able to get the part of her dress that's blowing in the wind an HDR? If you have to take multiple exposures there is no way you could get her dress in the exact same position every shot, how would you do this?

Either it's aggressive post editing, or one shot (taken in raw) and 'pseudo' - and + frames created.

The second method is what I was thinking, what about the couple? I'm guessing he took this is two ways, bracketed the scene without them in it, then placed them in the scene not moving his camera of course, and took one properly exposed image, tweaked the images and did a composite of the two.

Making HDR images of scenes that have movement in them can be done.

However, it requires a lot of post process work and some killer image editing skills.

Sorry but... at least correct the horizon! It can be tone mapped plus heavy burning and dodging. Not hard to do actually.

The background looks like it was added in post. the proportions just seem to be off and then they extended the veil in post. I would say it is a composite with tone mapped images.

I Photomatix you can select areas and choose a particular exposure to replace it; the tail of the gown could be a standard exposure within the HDR image. Not saying that is the case but it is very easy to do with the software.

Here's the methods I see possibly employed here:

Evidence of tone mapping across the image, especially in foreground rocks. High, local contrast in the rocks. The clouds look like they've been pushed with Nik's "structure". The clouds are de-saturated almost completely until close to the far horizon where there is evidence of the true color in the sky. It looks like some Noise reduction was applied after the local contrast (Structure/clarity) in the sky. Perhaps some dodging and burning on the clouds/around the couple.

The photographer probably had this vision before the image was even snapped.

There are numerous technical problems, however, that make this more of a concept piece, and less a finished product. The horizon needs to be level. The veil appears to be processed with the clouds instead of separately, as it gets darker with the sky. There's a noticeable glow/halo around the couple, perhaps intentional, but pretty unnatural.

Moving objects can easily be fixed in Photomatix using the deghosting feature. In this photo the vale thing looks fake. If you look at the left size in the shadows you can see a dark line under the bottom. I think the vale was added later. Also for it to be blowing out like that her hair and dress would be blowing just as bad, but they're not. So its obviously a fake.

Erm, image taken in cloudy conditions, clouds have big sections without details, there's NOTHING HDR about this image. I'm not even sure you would need a fill flash for this. I personally think this was a simple normal exposure put through some software which is capable of applying tonemapping (like Photomatix or Photoshop)
