shouldnt crop the head IMO. Im still beginner

Vtec,

I think the crop is okay, I would prefer a rule of thirds position on the face. Is this photo cropped from a bigger shot, why don't you post that and ask people to edit.

It's a subtle adjustment. But this utilizes DM more effectively, in addition to ROT..

Thanks! Yeah I was playing with DM but didn't want to chop off too much of his hand. I'll post the larger version of it when I home. Thanks for the feedback so far. :)

I like it how it is.

The head, and hands create an effective triangle to help lead the eye. I liked the discovery of the guitar, rather than being hit over the head that he must be a musician.

I updated the original post. I'm always indecisive when it comes to cropping.... lol

I like the original best.
The second is a bit too bright for my taste. If you were going to just enhance the skin, I'd use something like Viveza 2 to keep the rest of the photo from being tweaked.

Vtec, nice shot with good color. For me I would just crop from the top of the frame down so you retain the full head and body with some emphasis on the neck of the guitar. If you do your framing in camera whilst taking the shot, which you have time to do in this type of photo, then you will have very little post shot cropping. Good luck.

Have you edited his face? By looking at this face I get the sense that he's 18 - when I look at his left hand (the one on the guitar) it looks like the hand of an older man. For some reason that caught my attention straight away. It may just be the lighting though. Otherwise, I like the first one the best.

I did my framing, hence the first shot but I always change my mind. :D

I didn't do any editing other than removing 2 dark spots. He also had make up on.
