All I did was sharpen and crop. How's this one?

Thanks!

It is interesting but it could be better. I like the palms framing the opposite shore but maybe a flash to light them up a bit would help. Also, I think the shore is a bit over exposed and there is some loss of detail in it. I find myself squinting to try and figure out what is there. This would be a good one to re shoot if you can.

Thanks. Here is the link where I tried hdr to lighten up the foreground. I wanted to post this separately to see if it fares better without the hdr.

I can reshoot, hopefully next week. It's a local spot (one of my fav's).

I don't think the subject matter is of any interest. Its pretty basic. These shots work well with Cityscapes because city skylines tend to be very dynamic and often times have identifiable elements. With this shot, the buildings all sort of run into each other at a flat level and the lights tend to become a big glob of light. Its a nice practice shot for this style of shooting and you had the right idea in mind with framing the trees around the shot, but you just need a better subject. You could have possibly zoomed in with a long tele, getting some of the water and reflections in, but being tighter on the building in the center( the larger one ) to accentuate the shape more and isolate some of the lights. Thats just one opinion though.
