hrtfd dog pound; euthanizing everyday this week

We got our first mixed cat at a shelter (she was one of a kind, had a curly tail and used to sleep on my shoulder) and now have another kitty (who just so happens to be a purebred Russian Blue) that we found at 8 weeks out in the middle of an October storm. I wanted to call her October but my mom had a hard time pronouncing it, (she's Taiwanese) so we settle for Ember =).

The shelter that we have in Richmond is no-kill, but if the cats are not adopted within three weeks, they go to 'the cat lady'. She lives alone... with 400 cats. Many of them have terminal diseases, cancer, etc etc, but she loves them. I'm sure she'll live to be 120 - she's found her calling.

Agreed (can we say this enough?) Check out your local shelter!

The face on that dog in the last pic sure looks sad:(
