Just a couple of the images from a loss for the team I was covering (in white).

1) Offensive line need images too. Yeah, I probably should have cropped out the arm behind him. However, I am putting most of the images up for purchase by the parents so I want it to be in a comment print size for them. (The parents bought this one)

2) This one could have been called a fumble but they called him down. I had two images showing the ball to be not in his control and hi bottom not touching the ground.

Thanks @jcdeboever. I pretty much thought so too. Not sure it would have helped us win, but it was early enough that it could have changed some things.

@ronlane always enjoy your sports shots, they have so much "realism" in them. The sharpness and color makes me wonder if they're going to be making that play right out of the screen into my lap! Any feedback you could give us on the exposure? Shutter, ISO, Apertures you're fond of using?

Some of my images are just me tempting fate. I have been know to stand or kneel in a spot a little too long, lol.

I use a Canon 7D mk II and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8. I leave it at f/2.8 all night and vary my shutter speed and ISO as the light changes. I try to start at 1/1250 or 1/1000 of a second and try not to go any slower that 1/640 and then I will have it on a monopod (I use a Sirui P-224 carbon fiber monopod). This year I have been starting the game at 1/1000 of a second and using Auto ISO with it limited to 6400 max. I'd have to pull out my camera tonight to tell you the rest of the settings as far as metering and the tracking. I use single point focusing with back button focus.

Some of the other tips is that I try to stay about 20 down field unless I'm wanting to get a shot like this, in which case I was like 5-10 yards behind the teams.

My processing is pretty much the same on all of them. In LR only. Crop and straighten the image first, then WB adjustment, Camera profile, usually +.30 or +.50 exposure, -50 on highlights, shift double click on whites and blacks, medium tone curve, detail - +70 sharpening, .70 radius, 45 detail and about 70 masking, 30 on both noise reductions. Lens correction and that is about it. IF the shadows are dark like this one I may go about +40 to the shadows on the basic panel.
