The other side of the coin is the "unknown" - the stuff that we might know some day, or perhaps we'll never know because we don't have the intellectual capacity to understand it. To have a meaningful discussion of the "facts", one needs to know how the "facts" were obtained, what data was excluded, and how much we know (or don't know). But people tend to want simple answers and gravitate to black/white pronouncements.
